Benji's first Pine Wood Derby!!

Benji participated in his first Pine Wood Derby!! It was also Ben and my first derby! We had no idea what to expect but it was so much fun!! Ben worked (oops!!) I mean Benji and his father worked very hard on his space shuttle!

Overall the shuttle did not fare very well. We were thrilled when he got 3rd (as long as he was not last!!)

He won a best design award for out of this world! And also a great sportmanship award!!

This year we were young and inexperienced in the derby techniques! They built the car for looks. Next year we will work on looks and research how to go faster!!!
